Privacy Policy

Sign-in. The App uses Google Sign-In and, on iOS, Sign in with Apple for authentication. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address and (with Google) profile picture from your Google or Apple account. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email” option, we receive a private relay address instead of your real email. We do not receive or store your account password. Your use of these services is also governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy respectively.

Information you provide. If you contact us or subscribe to updates, we collect the details you provide, such as your name and email address. Within the App, we also store your activity such as places you have liked and ratings or reviews you submit.

Content downloads. AR and virtual-tour content you download through the App (such as 3D models and audio) is stored locally on your device and can be removed at any time from Profile → Clear Cache in the App. We may record which content items your account has downloaded in order to provide, restore and update that content.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Services, we and our service providers automatically collect device and usage information such as device model, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location (country/region), language, crash logs, your device’s advertising identifier (used for advertising as described in Section 4), and how you interact with the Services. This is used to operate, secure and improve the Services.

The App may request access to your device camera solely to provide augmented reality features. Camera imagery is processed on your device for the AR experience and is not collected or stored by us. You can capture a photo of an AR model on your screen; such photos are saved only to your own device gallery and are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

We use the information described above to: provide and maintain the Services; analyse usage and improve content and features; fix crashes and technical problems; respond to your queries; comply with applicable law; and, where enabled, serve advertising (see Section 4).

We use the following categories of service providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication (Firebase Auth with Google Sign-In), database (Cloud Firestore, where your account data, liked places and ratings are stored), file storage (Firebase Storage), analytics, crash reporting, content delivery and remote configuration (Remote Config).
• Google AdMob — advertising (see Section 4).
• Hosting providers — for the Site.

These providers may process data outside India, including in the United States, under their own safeguards and published privacy policies.

The App may include Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google. When advertising is active, Google may collect and use your device’s advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google’s advertising policies. You can opt out of personalised advertising through your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking). Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before serving personalised ads.

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only: with the service providers listed in Section 3; where required by law, legal process or governmental request; to protect our rights, users or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, by the service providers listed above. Where such transfers occur, they are made in accordance with applicable data protection law.

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at info@itihaasnow.com and we will delete it.

Subject to applicable law — including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR — you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance.

In-app controls. You can remove downloaded content from your device at any time (Profile → Clear Cache) and permanently delete your account and user data (Profile → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes your data — including your profile, liked places and ratings — from our active systems; residual copies in backups are deleted in the ordinary course.

You may also exercise any of these rights by emailing info@itihaasnow.com. If you are in India and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last revised” date. Material changes will be notified prominently on the Services.
